The four new Vestas V112 wind turbines with a total rated capacity of some 13 MW generate electricity for around 5,500 four-person households.
This brings EKZ a large step closer to its goal of generating 400 gigawatt-hours of electricity with European wind power by 2016. EKZ holds a share of 75 percent and Projekt GmbH participates with 25 percent, as with two other wind farms in Garlipp.
"EKZ has also entrusted us with the technical operation management of this wind farm. We're very pleased that the excellent and longstanding cooperation with the utility, based on proven German and Swiss 'thoroughness', has now been extended to all 10 wind turbines", says Ubbo de Witt, Managing Director of Projekt GmbH.
