The Oldenburg-based project developer and general contractor has engaged local civil engineering company Nyhuis & Lange to build the roads in Ganderkesee. The work currently under way will ensure that Vestas, the manufacturer of the three V117-3.3MW wind turbines, will be able to construct the foundations and erect the turbines on schedule in early 2017.
"The Hengsterholz community wind farm is our first project of this kind. That's because the same group of investors is replacing 6 wind turbines with a yield of 660 kW each with 2 wind turbines of max. 3.45 MW each. Once again, the existing and other landowners chose the Projekt group as a reliable partner to expand the wind farm by an extra, third turbine", says Kirsten Smit-Wiechelt, the Project Manager.
Last week, the first V112-3.3 MW Vestas turbines were successfully erected in Ovelgönne. Grid connection to the substation in Brake will take place at the end of November, and commissioning is due for the first week in December 2016.
There has been a wind farm from the Projekt group in Ovelgönne for many years. Discussions on the further development of the site in the Oldenbrok district were held together with the local authorities and political representatives, and with maximum involvement of the community. Included in the talks was the offer of maximum local value creation and possible financial participation. These plans were approved and implemented.
"This broad-based approach, from the idea right through to implementation, is what got everybody on board, not least the landowners," says Ubbo de Witt, a managing partner of Projekt GmbH.
