In the run-up to the tender, the German Federal Network Agency (BNetzA) had reduced the tender volume from 3,192 megawatts (MW) to 1,667MW, and the maximum value for the bidding period was set at € 0.0735/kWh[1].
Together with our customers, we examined the current conditions and carried out a market and competition assessment. "We know from our current German projects that the grid connection, i.e. the delivery times for medium-voltage substations and transformer stations, are the bottleneck," says Ubbo de Witt, managing partner of Projekt GmbH. "We anticipated that while many projects are ready for construction, they cannot provide sufficient capacity for the bidding process even with the reduced bidding volume because they would not be able to meet the implementation deadlines under Section 36e EEG 2023.“
