The Planner Advisory Council sees itself primarily as a forum for the exchange of information between planners and project developers in the wind energy industry. Across all companies, it supports exchanges about the current requirements for implementation permits. Furthermore, with its expertise, the Council represents within BWE and to the public the special requirements that apply in the planning and implementation of wind energy projects and in ensuring their acceptance. The Council contributes its expertise to the work of the national BWE Board. The purpose of the Council's work is to boost the quality of wind projects as well as to work on recommendations and directives that prevent planning errors. This is designed in particular to support the overall aim of sustained development and acceptance of wind energy development. The Chairman is Ubbo de Witt.
The Projekt Group also tackles current issues and problems in the industry via its cooperation in the working groups Marking (Roland Hagendorff, Spokesperson) and Nature Protection (Roland Hagendorff, Deputy Spokesperson).
Working together with parents and teachers, we financed and installed a solar energy system on the roof of Dietrichsfeld primary school in Oldenburg. The scheme was a model project in the Climate and Energy Education Network of the Regional Environment Centre in Oldenburg. It led to Germany's first "Energy for Primary Schools" curriculum.
We also financed and installed a solar heating system for sanitary and cooking purposes on the roof of a Brazilian primary school in Chapada. It will act as a model for the supply of hot water in regions with low-income populations.
We support the Boumdoudoum Development Association of Neues Gymnasium grammar school in Oldenburg. Its main objective is to provide primary education for all children in the village of Boumdoudoum in Burkina Faso. The various projects are partly initiated and supported by a working group of school students. They include for instance supplying solar lamps that have been assembled by the school students themselves to help with homework or financing literacy courses for the villagers.
In Brazil, our subsidiary Ecoprojeto Ltda. carries out projects for productive use of the land and to create jobs in an eco-friendly way. 220 hectares in the district of Soledade are being reforested with eucalyptus, araucaria and pinus trees. On 54 hectares of an area covering 62.5 hectares in the district of Palmeira das Missões, Ecoprojeto in cooperation with local partners cultivates soybeans, the rest of the land is a nature protection zone.
We purchased Oldenburg's first electric vehicle and invested in hydrogen storage research. This goes to show that we implement our energy visions starting with ourselves. Our new company building was built according to passive house standards.
From theatre productions to cultural events to advice on energy-efficient building renovation: The Projekt group has for years been a reliable partner of the Oldenburg culture centre "Kulturetage".
We also support the advice centre for girls who are victims of sexual abuse "Wildwasser", the "Nationalpark-Haus Wittbülten" on the island of Spiekeroog, the organic produce voucher booklet "Kostbar" and other regional initiatives.
